A fiery and vocal defender… Possesses rare versatility as a linebacker with the ability to drop back in coverage or crowd the line against the run… Spent four seasons with Indianapolis (2003-2006) before signing with the Buccaneers as a free agent on March 19, 2007… Selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2005… Also named Associated Press NFL All-Pro (second team), Pro Football Writers All-AFC Team and All-NFL Team in 2005… Has played in 88 career games with 73 starts, and has appeared in eight playoff contests with seven starts… Career totals include 623 tackles, 12 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns, 22 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one sack and 19 special teams tackles… Playoff totals include 50 tackles, one interception, one special teams tackle and one pass defensed… Originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round selection (198th overall) of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2003 NFL Draft.

2005: Started all 13 regular season games he appeared in and started Indianapolis’ lone playoff contest… Named to his first Pro Bowl with Indianapolis… Also named Associated Press NFL All-Pro (second team) and Pro Football Writers All-AFC Team and All-NFL Team… Ranked third on the team with 109 tackles and added a team leading and career-high five interceptions, returning two for touchdowns… Also added six passes defensed… Recorded seven post-season tackles and one interception… Had 13 tackles and one interception, which was returned 30 yards for a touchdown, at Baltimore (9/11)… Tallied seven tackles and two interceptions, returning one 24 yards for a touchdown, at San Francisco (10/9)… Recorded seven tackles and two interceptions the following week vs. St. Louis (10/17)… Had a season-high 14 tackles vs. Houston (11/13)… Started vs. Pittsburgh in AFC Divisional Game and recorded seven tackles and one interception.

2004: Started all 16 regular season games and both playoff contests for Indianapolis… Recorded a team-high 128 tackles and added two interceptions, seven passes defensed and two fumble recoveries… Finished with eight special teams tackles on the season...Recorded 16 tackles in two playoff games… Had 13 tackles and one fumble recovery at Jacksonville (10/3)… Totaled nine tackles and one interception vs. Oakland (10/10)… Tallied 15 tackles vs. Jacksonville (10/24)… Had 12 tackles at Kansas City (10/31)… Totaled 11 tackles and two passes defensed vs. Houston (11/14)… Had six tackles and one fumble recovery at Chicago (11/21)… Recorded eight tackles, one pass defened and one interception, which was returned 71 yards, vs. Baltimore (12/19)… Had eight tackles in the AFC Wild Card Game vs. Denver (1/9/05) and in AFC Divisional Game at New England (1/16/05).

2003: Played primarily on special teams in 11 regular season games and one postseason contest with Indianapolis… Recorded nine special teams tackles and one tackle in the playoffs… Also had one special teams tackle in the playoffs... Had two special teams tackles vs. New England (11/30) and vs. Atlanta (12/14)… Saw action on special teams in AFC Wild Card Game vs. Denver (1/4/04) and recorded one tackle and one special teams tackle.


Played three years at the University of Michigan… Named All-Big 10 honorable mention as a senior… Started 26 of the 36 career games played and ended his college career with 138 tackles, six sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and three interceptions… As a senior, started 11 games and recorded 53 tackles, two sacks, three passes defensed and one forced fumble… As a junior, started 11 games and had 58 tackles, three sacks, six passes defensed, two forced fumble, two interceptions and one fumble recovery… Did not play his sophomore season… Started four games as a freshman and tallied 27 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one interceptions… Majored in general studies.
