"El Rincon" is a little town near to Havana and Bejucal where  La Iglesia de San Lazaro is located.

December 17 is San Lazaro`s day.  That day is impossible to go there, thousands of people go, most of them to fulfill their promise. 

Patrons already are lined up to go in.

The trip for many of these people is often is very hard, they do it without shoes, dragging or carrying something very heavy, that was their promise.

On the steps, a young man arrives without shoes.

At his side somebody help him, maybe his "padrino," from Yoruba religion

Some make the pilgrimage by rail.

To the side of the church is a hospital for persons with leprosy, attended by the nuns.
